Classic Closet Athens Terms & Conditions
By placing an order with Classic Closet Athens, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.
Rental Period
Your rental period begins on the date selected at checkout and ends on the scheduled return date shown on your order.
Local pickup orders may be picked up on the first day of the rental period anytime after 10:00 AM.
Items must be returned by the end of the scheduled rental period unless an extension has been approved by Classic Closet Athens in advance.
Caring for Your Rental
Customers are responsible for taking reasonable care of all rented items while they are in their possession.
Please do not:
- Alter, hem, tailor, cut, sew, or otherwise modify the item in any way.
- Use pins, safety pins, fashion tape that may damage the fabric, or any other materials that could leave holes, marks, residue, or damage.
- Remove or alter tags, straps, embellishments, or other parts of the garment.
- Attempt to repair damage yourself.
- Wash, dry clean, iron, steam, bleach, or otherwise clean the item unless specifically instructed by Classic Closet Athens.
Please use extra care around makeup, self-tanner, food, drinks, sharp objects, jewelry, and other items that could stain, snag, tear, or damage the garment.
Cleaning
You do not need to clean your rental before returning it. Classic Closet Athens handles cleaning after each rental.
Items should be returned as-is in the same packaging they were received in.
Excessive staining, strong odors, or damage requiring additional treatment may result in additional charges.
Damage
Normal wear from reasonable use is expected. However, customers are financially responsible for damage that occurs during their rental period.
Damage may include, but is not limited to:
- Tears or holes
- Broken zippers
- Missing or broken straps
- Missing buttons or embellishments
- Snags or pulls
- Permanent stains
- Burns
- Damage caused by alterations or pins
- Excessive makeup or self-tanner staining
- Damage that makes the item unable to be rented again
If an item can be repaired, you may be charged for the cost of the repair and any associated cleaning or restoration costs.
If an item is damaged beyond repair or can no longer reasonably be rented, you may be charged up to the full retail or replacement value of the item.
Please contact Classic Closet Athens immediately if an item becomes damaged during your rental.
Lost or Stolen Items
You are responsible for the rental from the time it is picked up or delivered until it is returned to Classic Closet Athens.
If an item is lost, stolen, not returned, or otherwise cannot be recovered, you may be charged the full retail or replacement value of the item.
Security Authorization & Card on File
By completing your rental, you authorize Classic Closet Athens and its payment provider to securely keep your payment method on file, where permitted.
You authorize Classic Closet Athens to charge the payment method associated with your order for amounts owed under these Terms & Conditions, including:
- Late fees
- Repair costs
- Excessive cleaning costs
- Damage charges
- Replacement costs
- Lost or unreturned items
- Other charges specifically permitted under your rental agreement
If an additional charge is necessary, Classic Closet Athens may contact you regarding the issue and the amount being charged.
Your card information is processed through our payment provider, and Classic Closet Athens does not directly store your full card number.
Late Returns
Rentals must be returned by the scheduled return date.
Late returns are subject to a $25 late fee per day until the item is returned.
Customers may also be responsible for additional losses caused by a late return, including situations where the late return prevents Classic Closet Athens from fulfilling another customer's confirmed rental.
If you believe you will be late returning an item, contact us as soon as possible.
Local Pickup & Return
Local rentals are available for pickup in Athens, Georgia.
Your order may be picked up on the first day of your rental period anytime after 10:00 AM.
Rental items should be returned to the same location where they were picked up unless Classic Closet Athens provides different instructions.
Items must be returned in the same packaging in which they were received.
If you miss your pickup time, please contact us to arrange another time. Missing your pickup does not extend your rental period.
Shipping
Customers who select shipping are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address.
Classic Closet Athens is not responsible for delays caused by the shipping carrier, weather, incorrect addresses, missed deliveries, or other circumstances outside of our control.
Customers should choose rental dates that allow adequate time for delivery before their event.
If return shipping materials or a prepaid return label are provided, customers must use the provided materials and drop the package off with the designated carrier by the required return date.
Customers are responsible for properly packaging the rental for return.
Failure to send the item back by the required return date may result in late fees.
Classic Closet Athens is not responsible for packages that are delayed after being accepted by the shipping carrier.
Sizing & Fit
Sizing varies between brands and styles, and Classic Closet Athens cannot guarantee that an item will fit exactly as expected.
Customers are responsible for reviewing the size and product information before booking.
We offer in-person try-ons in Athens and highly recommend scheduling a try-on if you are unsure about sizing or fit.
Dresses cannot be held or reserved solely for a future try-on. An item is officially reserved once the rental is booked and paid for.
Shipped rentals are not eligible for refunds solely because of fit or sizing.
Changes to Rental Dates
Rental dates may be changed if the item is available for the requested new dates.
Date changes are not guaranteed and must be approved by Classic Closet Athens.
Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to request a change.
Cancellations & Refunds
Rental payments are generally nonrefundable once a reservation has been booked because the item has been removed from availability for other customers.
If you need to cancel or change an order, please contact Classic Closet Athens as soon as possible.
Any refunds, credits, exchanges, or changes are made at the discretion of Classic Closet Athens unless otherwise required by law.
If Classic Closet Athens is unable to provide the item you reserved because of damage, loss, a previous renter's late return, or another issue on our end, we will work with you to provide an available replacement, store credit, or refund as appropriate.
Item Condition Upon Receipt
Customers should inspect their rental when it is received.
If you notice damage, staining, or another issue that was already present when you received the item, please contact Classic Closet Athens as soon as possible and provide photos.
Promptly reporting existing damage helps ensure you are not held responsible for damage that occurred before your rental.
Ownership of Rental Items
All rental items remain the property of Classic Closet Athens or the individual owner who has authorized Classic Closet Athens to rent the item.
Renting an item does not transfer ownership to the customer.
Personal Property
Please check all pockets and packaging before returning your rental.
Classic Closet Athens is not responsible for personal belongings left inside returned clothing or packaging.
Assumption of Responsibility
You are responsible for the rental while it is in your possession and agree to use reasonable care to protect it from loss, theft, staining, damage, and unauthorized alterations.
You are also responsible for ensuring that anyone else who wears or handles the rental follows these Terms & Conditions.
Limitation of Liability
Classic Closet Athens is not responsible for personal injury, allergic reactions, skin irritation, property damage, event cancellations, missed events, or other indirect losses related to the use, fit, delivery, or condition of a rental, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.
Order Acceptance
Classic Closet Athens reserves the right to refuse, cancel, or refund an order when necessary, including in cases involving inventory errors, suspected fraud, unavailable merchandise, payment issues, or circumstances that make fulfilling the rental impractical.
Agreement to Terms
By completing your purchase, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
You also agree that the payment method associated with your rental may be charged for applicable fees, damages, loss, or other amounts owed under these Terms & Conditions, subject to applicable payment-processing rules and law.

Item looks nearly new with little to no visible wear.
Excellent
Item is in great condition with very minor signs of previous use.
Good
Item shows some minor signs of wear but is still in great condition and photographs beautifully.
Fair
Item has noticeable signs of wear but remains fully wearable.
Worn
Item has more visible wear from previous rentals but is still functional and available for rent.
